The perfect match of black and yellow – what comes to mind? You're not far off if you're thinking of the Air Jordan 1 Taxi in its Low or Mid version, but right now we've got a much brighter shade of yellow in mind. And since we're not keeping you guessing (and since you've probably already read the title of this post), here it is: the Air Jordan 4 “Thunder”! ⚡👟

The predecessors

We have to jump back more than 10 years, all the way to 2012 (back when our ages were still single digits 😂👶). That's when the Air Jordan 4 Retro “Thunder” last dropped: the black-and-yellow Jordan that gets the heart racing for everyone who loves TPE mesh and a nubuck upper. 😍

Actually, the truth is we have to go back even further, because this design in these colors first debuted in 2006! 😱

So the Air Jordan 4 Retro “Thunder” returning this year has some history behind it, which means we need a quick history lesson! 👴🏻

The story

In 2006, two new limited-edition Air Jordan 4 colorways took plenty of people by surprise. The “Thunder Pack” and the “Lightning Pack” were basically inverses of each other. The “Lightning” had a yellow upper, yellow laces and a yellow tongue – while the “Thunder” was mostly black, with a yellow heel among other details. ⚫️🟡

Both versions were sold exclusively online at jumpman23.com, which made them exclusive from the very first moment.

Many say the “Thunder” was one of the best non-OG Air Jordan 4 colorways ever. Maybe it's no coincidence that over time this version became more iconic and more popular. Six years later, only the “Thunder” got re-released.

The “Thunder”

But what makes the Air Jordan 4 “Thunder” look so insanely good?

Is the devil in the details? 👿

You could look for the secret in the color of the tongue mesh and lace eyelets, the midsole or the Jumpman logo – but it's the overall look that counts. When you look at this sneaker, you just feel that everything's in the right place.

Well, almost everything: the shoe itself isn't in the right place yet, because it belongs on your feet! 👉🏼👟

And speaking of “Thunder”: they say lightning never strikes the same place twice. Well, to be honest, we're totally fine with this lightning striking more than once. ⚡

That's why we were grinning from ear to ear when early 2022 brought a new twist to the story: the Air Jordan 4 Retro “Red Thunder” dropped. What was yellow on the original “Thunder” went red on this sneaker. 🤯

And that fire-red color totally set our hearts on fire! ❤️🔥

It was love at first sight! 😍

If you feel the same and love the Air Jordan 4 Retro “Red Thunder” (if you don't own a pair yet, order one right now by clicking here!), then the original “Thunder” definitely can't be missing from your rotation either!

The wait

So, long story short: this spring Jordan is re-releasing the Air Jordan 4 Retro "Thunder" – the black-and-yellow beauty last seen in 2012. 🤩

May and summer 2023 will be all about the eye-catching Air Jordan 4 Retro “Thunder” – reworked in the small details, but channeling the original to the max! Soon you'll be able to order it and get it in your hands too! 🚛

The news broke back last August that the “Tour Yellow” color is coming back – and that it will compete with the “Red Thunder” for the favor of sneakerheads and fans.

Which one gets your vote? Do you already have one of them? 🤷♂️

Are you sticking with the mind-blowing red of the “Red Thunder” you already love? ❤️

Or do you not want to miss one of this year's big comebacks, and you'll be rocking the “Thunder” wherever you go? 💛

Or maybe, as a true sneakerhead, one isn't enough and you'll cop a pair of each? 😻

The best part is, you can't make a bad choice!

In fact, you've already made a good choice, because you're here with us at onsize.eu! If we've got you in the mood for a new pair, check out our sneakers! 😉
